or Osama bin Laden the terrorist. They prefer the middle of the road.
They don't want to endanger the security of their "personal peace and affluence."

Jesus said He has more respect for the followers of Osama than the followers of Obama. Jesus said "lukewarm" moderates make Him puke: The great middle-of-the-road empires of our day (U.S.A., U.K., U.S.S.R. etc.) have all been threatened by "terrorists." Osama bin Laden and his "freedom fighters" received weapons from the U.S.A. to fight the U.S.S.R.
I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:15-16
But the empires are also threatened by "peaceniks" who discourage hundreds of millions of people in these empires from working 9-5 for the military-industrial complex and keeping the wheels of empire turning.  
"Choose life." Deuteronomy 30:19-21 The ideas of the "respectable," "practical," and "realistic" statesmen, professors, and think tanks of the great empires of our day have led to the deaths of hundreds of millions of human beings. "Terrorists" have only killed thousands of people.

Who is the Prince of Peace?

Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace.
Following the Prince of Peace takes discipline.
It's like running an Olympic race.

You need a coach.

It takes more courage
to pray   unarmed   for an armed attacker
than to kill  armed with superior firepower   an attacker.
It takes more courage
to follow the Prince of Peace than to vote for war.
It takes more courage
to follow the Prince of Peace when all your friends call you names ("Coward!" "Traitor!") than it does to obey the government's order to kill the innocent when all your friends do too.
 
It takes moral courage.
It takes strength of character.
It takes persistent, dedicated training
to develop this kind of strength
to develop this kind of courage.
It takes a new and comprehensive view of the whole world.
How can you develop the strength and endurance

You need a coach.

What is a Personal Coach?

The Bible says life is like an athletic competition. Want to win the Gold Medal? You need a coach:

  • You've all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins.
    Run to win.
    All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You're after one that's gold eternally.
    I don't know about you, but I'm running hard for the finish line. I'm giving it everything I've got. No sloppy living for me! I'm staying alert and in top condition. I'm not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.

Why Read the Bible?

The Old Testament
advocates war, slavery, genocide, and vengeful retaliation.
The Teachings of Jesus
are impractical, utopian, unrealistic, and should be relegated to the inner religious meditations of a Mother Theresa, but should be kept away from public policy, especially foreign affairs and military strategy.

Both sides of this coin are wrong.
We need to examine these myths.

Jesus quoted the Old Testament. The prophets spoke of a day when we would beat our swords into plowshares and everyone would dwell securely under his own Vine & Fig Tree -- not because his property was being taken from him to fund the "military-industrial complex," but because nobody was training for war any more. If we were to follow the teachings of Jesus in Washington D.C., we would experience security, peace, and economic prosperity. No war that the U.S. federal government has waged has ever made things better than they would have been without military intervention.
  • How did the Civil War make things better? It gave us complete domination by the federal government.
  • What future was improved for Poland and Czechoslovakia by World War II? They were rescued from Hitler and turned over to Stalin.
  • How did U.S. war help the people of Iraq? A westernized, secular nation was converted into an Islamic Theocracy that leans toward Iran. Hundreds of thousands of Christians were killed or made homeless. Infrastructure was destroyed.
  • Which improvements in the human condition were won by war?
  We should take both the Old Testament and the New Testament seriously.

Prince of Peace

Liberty Under God

"Prince" is a royal, civic, or political title.

"Peace" is ultimately a religious concept.

The Prince of Peace commands us to "Love thy neighbor."

Peace is not possible as long as everyone thinks he is his own god.

Jean-Paul Sartre said, "If God is dead, then my neighbor is the Devil."

When nobody believes he is god, and nobody rationalizes the use of force against you, then Peace is the result.

"Peace" is the result of "Liberty." Liberty means freedom from the initiation of force.

"Liberty Under God" is the opposite of "the separation of church and state." "Liberty Under God" means the abolition of church and state. Another way to speak of "Liberty Under God" is to use the two most hated and feared words in the modern political lexicon:

Anarchy || Theocracy

We call it:

Anarcho-Theocracy

Some less religious folks call it:

Anarcho-Capitalism

But we promote "the true religion" of Jesus the Prince of Peace. America was once a "Christian nation," a nation "under God," The word "Theocracy," means "God governs," or "God rules." Being ruled by a just, holy, merciful, and loving God like The Prince of Peace is the only path to a peaceful world. A Christian "Theocracy" is nothing like a "theocracy" in which the god is warlike, or a secular theocracy where man is his own god and The State is the manifestation of man's power and deity.

  2. God created Moses, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Micah, Daniel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, and others to write and speak exactly the words God wanted them to write, so that these words could be collected into "The Bible," which is the inerrant Word of God.
  3. You are a brainwashed member of a homicidal authoritarian cult.

Number Three would be the easiest one to prove. Every single person who signed the Declaration of Independence -- great minds like Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, Benjamin Rush, and John Witherspoon -- would look at the world in which you live, and the actions you take -- and fail to take -- and conclude that you are not a true American, not a true Christian, and a very dysfunctional human being. They called a comparatively benign government a "tyranny" and risked their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to abolish it. The Boston Tea Party involved a tax on tea of three pence per pound; you pay ten times more on every gallon of gas. Despite nearly universal opposition to a trillion-dollar bailout of Wall Street, Congress approved the transfer of $3,000 from every man, woman, and child in America to large insurance and investment firms, proving that we have massive taxation without representation.

If True Americans declare their independence from officially Christian and functionally limited governments like Great Britain in 1776, and label such a government a "tyranny," then our government today is an unimaginably evil atheistic and totalitarian regime.

But you say nothing. You do nothing. You are a member of a violent authoritarian cult that deceives its members into mindless obedience and "drinking the kool-aid" or killing those who refuse to drink. After de-programming through Prince of Peace Coaching, you will look at the entire world -- every area of life -- in a completely different way.

The personal transformation will be massive -- unlike anything you have ever experienced in your life. The next 365 days will be the most pivotal, revolutionary days of your life, or we will refund 100% of your tuition.

Human beings are hard-wired by their Creator to prefer peace over violence. Sometimes we resort to violence against others to secure peace for ourselves. This does not bring peace in the long-run or for the greatest number.

Unimaginable Violence

The Human Race may be at a crossroads. During the 20th century, an average of 10,000 people were intentionally killed every single day. This figure does not include babies killed before they were born (approx. 135,000 per day). This figure is limited to those who were killed by entities known as "governments," and does not include "murders" committed by "private sector" criminals. During this century, trillions of dollars of private property were confiscated by governments around the world. Governments wield the power of taxation and the power of life and death. Nuclear weapons now give governments the power to make the entire human race extinct.

Many people really don't oppose this kind of global violence.
• Some environmentalists believe billions of human beings must be liquidated to save the environment.
• Some Christians believe billions of human beings are about to be fried in a nuclear "Armageddon."
• Many Americans are willing to kill millions of brown-skinned people in order to secure cheap oil.

More children were killed by the United States in Iraq than were killed in Hiroshima by an atomic bomb. Most Americans support all or most of the U.S. wars in the Middle East.

Violent war-making governments are made up of people just like you and me, and are supported by people like you and me. We  need a new vision of the future and a new standard of personal morality. That's why change must begin with us.

In complete and utter contrast to today's atheistic war machines, the Bible holds out a vision of peace, and says it will come about when individuals like you and me give up violence. This prospect is called "unrealistic" and "impractical." "The War to End All Wars" was viewed as a sophisticated foreign policy, conceived and supported by University Presidents and World Leaders. But it didn't. Violence will not end violence. This is why the Bible urges us to beat our "swords into plowshares."

Consider this passage:

Micah 4:1-7

And it will come about in the last days
That the mountain of the House of the LORD
Will be established as the chief of the mountains
And it will be raised above the hills

And the peoples will stream to it.
And many nations will come and say,
"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD
And to the House of the God of Jacob,

That He may teach us about His ways
And that we may walk in His paths."
For from Zion will go forth the Law
Even the Word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

And He will judge between many peoples
And render decisions for mighty, distant nations.

Then they will hammer their
swords into plowshares
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation will not lift up sword against nation
And never again will they train for war.

And each of them will sit under his
Vine and under his fig tree,
With no one to make them afraid.
For the LORD of hosts has spoken.

Though all the peoples walk
Each in the name of his god,
As for us, we will walk
In the Name of the LORD our God
forever and ever.
In that day, saith the LORD,
will I assemble her that halteth,
and I will gather her that is driven out,
and her that I have afflicted;
And I will make her that halted a remnant,
and her that was cast far off a strong nation:
and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion
from henceforth, even for ever.

If you're honest, you'll admit you're attracted to the Biblical ideal of mankind beating swords into plowshares, and everyone dwelling safely and securely under his own "Vine & Fig Tree." America's Founding Fathers were. Micah's vision was the original American Dream.

But those who plan wars and support them tell you that this vision is "too idealistic."

You're still reading because you want to be a force for peace rather than war, killing, and destruction.

You're here because you suspect that war is a racket.

In a sense, all of us have been trained to believe that war is necessary. Even those of us who have read what the Bible says about peace [see sidebar, right] and believe in our minds that peace is Man's summum bonum -- highest good -- find it hard to

and easier to follow orders and participate in war.

It's hard to stand alone against the crowd.

A Biblical worldview is the first step in following Christ the King. A worldview helps you connect the dots.

Courage comes when you -- or someone backing you up -- have the skills to overcome that which you fear. These skills come at the end of a long arduous process of training. (Some might even call it "brainwashing.") Completing that training requires a view of the world that convinces you that peace is possible, that war is not inevitable, and that peacemaker training is not a waste of time.

When we reject the ways of war and vengeance in our government, we can no longer deceive ourselves into thinking that because the government does it, we can do it in our own lives. This helps us become better husbands and wives, better parents, better teachers, better employers, and better neighbors.

Vine & Fig Tree - "The American Dream"

What is "The American Dream?"
• Is it to work two jobs so that more than half of everything you earn can be taken by the government and given to special interests and causes you don't agree with?
• Is it to build a home and fill it with memories only to have it seized by politicians whose campaign contributors want to build a strip mall on your property?
• Is it paying low prices at the gas pump because Washington D.C. is willing to invade other nations, overthrow their governments, prop up pliable dictatorships, and kill millions of innocent civilians in order to control their oil?
• Is it a 6% 30-year mortgage with a fixed rate? ("Wow! A fixed rate!")

No. None of these are the original American dream. They would all be considered a nightmare by America's Founders.

What motivated the Founding Fathers? What caused them to risk so much -- their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor?

Answer: the idea of every American owning his own "vine and fig tree," free and clear, and dwelling in safety and peace, without being molested by princes or politicians, lawyers or tax collectors.

America's Founding Fathers Knew This Dream

According to the Library of Congress Website, George Washington was motivated by the Vine & Fig Tree vision revealed in the Bible:
No theme appears more frequently in the writings of Washington than his love for his land. The diaries are a monument to that concern. In his letters he referred often, as an expression of this devotion and its resulting contentment, to an Old Testament passage. After the Revolution, when he had returned to Mount Vernon, he wrote the Marquis de Lafayette on Feb. 1, 1784:

"At length my Dear Marquis I am become a private citizen on the banks of the Potomac, & under the shadow of my own Vine & my own Fig-tree."

This phrase occurs at least 11 times in Washington's letters.

"And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree" (2 Kings 18:31).

The phrase occurs a number of times in Scripture. These references are visual reminders of the Hebrew word for salvation, which means
         • peace,
         • wholeness,
         • health,
         • welfare, and
         • private property free from pirates and princes.

It is also a phrase from the prophet Micah, this idea of everyone owning property and enjoying the fruits of their labor without fear of theft or political oppression, of sitting peacefully under your "Vine & Fig Tree."

Washington mentioned some other aspects of the “Vine and Fig Tree” vision in a letter he wrote to Franηois Jean de Beauvoir, Marquis de Chastellux, April 25, 1788:

for the sake of humanity it is devoutly to be wished, that the manly employment of agriculture and the humanizing benefits of commerce, would supersede the waste of war and the rage of conquest; that the swords might be turned into plough-shares, the spears into pruning hooks, and, as the Scripture expresses it, "the nations learn war no more."

Those are the words of the Prophet Micah. Peter Lillback, author of a 1,000-page study of Washington's life and thought, has found more than 40 references to the “Vine and Fig Tree” vision in Washington's Papers.

Many other American Founders
wrote of this ideal. "Vine & Fig Tree" is the original "American Dream."

When today's Americans hear the  word "salvation," they usually think about going to heaven when they die. When the writers of the Bible used the word "salvation," they wanted you to be thinking about dwelling safely under your own Vine & Fig Tree during this life -- much more often than they wanted you to be thinking about what you'll be doing in the afterlife.

Few Americans today have heard the phrase "Vine & Fig Tree," but it sums up the American Dream as it was dreamed 200 years ago. A few highly-educated scholars and historians might recognize the phrase, but you would draw a blank from the "man on the street." A few people living in New York might have a glimmer of recognition. The prophecy from Isaiah, Micah's contemporary, is memorialized in a United Nations garden. Needless to say, our idea of "Vine & Fig Tree" did not come from the U.N.

Nor did any Americans in the past get the "Vine & Fig Tree" idea from the United Nations. And the interesting thing is, many Americans once had the "Vine & Fig Tree" idea. The Bible was better understood by most Americans 200 years ago than it is today. 

Absolutely essential to everyone dwelling safely under his own Vine & Fig Tree, according to the Bible, is this:

Then they will hammer their
swords into plowshares
And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation will not lift up sword against nation
And never again will they train for war.

We beat our swords into plowshares because we are willing to be governed by the Prince of Peace:

And He will judge between many peoples
And render decisions for mighty, distant nations.

"Vine & Fig Tree" is a worldview. Explore the "Vine & Fig Tree" worldview in more detail here. It is also the character traits, habits and interpersonal skills that allow people to live in peace in their ordinary lives.

Both the Republicans and Democrats have completely forgotten the original American Dream, and neither party has any idea how to achieve it.

The American Dream: An Impossible Dream?

You might think that this dream -- owning your own property free and clear, no mortgage, no IRS liens, no property taxes, and no fear of invaders or conquerors -- is a "pipe dream." You might think it's an impossible dream. But nearly every human being who settled in America soon realized this dream, or had every realistic hope that in a few years this dream would be lived by children or grandchildren. Two hundred years ago, nearly all Americans lived this dream. It can be attained again, but only if we stop believing the false promises of politicians and stop believing that this dream can become reality simply by voting for Washington D.C. to violently confiscate it from others and hand it to us on a silver platter.

Why Should I Sign Up?

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Hebrews 12:14

This program is not just about peace, narrowly considered. It is about a holistic Christian life. It is about holiness. It is about standing before your Maker and hearing this:

Well done, thou good and faithful servant
(Matthew 25:21)

rather than this:

You wicked, lazy slave! (Matthew 25:26)

or even the words of Samuel Adams:

If ye love wealth better than liberty,
the tranquillity of servitude than
the animating contest of freedom

—go from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.

May your chains sit lightly upon you, and
may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!

Americans today are slaves and warmongers -- slaves in the eyes of America's Founding Fathers who fought for liberty, and warmongers in the eyes of the Prince of Peace.
We are no longer "the land of free and the home of the brave." Free: we are owned by the banks and enslaved by millions of bureaucrats;
Brave: we are conformists, afraid to take a politically incorrect public stand.

A follower of The Prince of Peace rejects earthly princes of war.

Alcoholics Anonymous requires its members to confess their shortcomings. We are like "Warmongers Anonymous." We must start with our own warlike habits.

Every single person who signed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution would say this about you:

You are a victim of
Educational Malpractice.

You have been systematically deprived of the three things that every single person who signed the Constitution would say are a necessary part of a basic American education. These three things are specifically mentioned in America's Organic Law. But you were never taught that America's Organic Law consists of the most fundamental charters of America's government. Now that you know what the "Organic Law" is, you still don't know what fundamental documents it contains. Article III of one of them says this:

Religion, morality, and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged. The utmost good faith shall always be observed towards the Indians; their lands and property shall never be taken from them without their consent . . . .

The Organic Law of America not only recognizes our dependence on and duty towards God, but specifies where we should learn about our Creator (religion), the rights with which He has endowed us, and our duties toward Him and our fellow man (morality).

Today, our schools and government are "secular" (atheistic) and confiscating property from others without their consent -- armed robbery -- is the heart and soul of our vast "entitlement" social programs. You were cheated out of an education which began with "Thou shalt not steal" and "Thou shalt not kill."

The Christian Religion and Christian morality were to be taught in public schools.

Even though Justice Douglas concurred in Engel v. Vitale, the case which removed Christianity from public schools in the early 1960's, he was honest enough to admit that

Religion was once deemed to be a function of the public school system.

Justice Douglas then quoted the Article above. Then he proceeded to ignore the law he swore to uphold, and removed "religion and morality" from public schools.

Soon after that, knowledge was removed from public schools, because when some kids have knowledge, that hurts the "self-esteem" of those who don't. Away with grades, away with knowledge! America's youth no longer score #1 on international tests.

The average teenager in 1776 knew more about what it means to be a great American, a great Christian, and a great Human Being than you do. Transport the average teenager from 1776 to our time and that teenager could figure out how to use your Blackberry, your remote control, and drive your SUV in a matter of days, but it would take you months, maybe years, to learn as much about geography, morality, history, religion, political science, virtue, and develop the habits of character which the average American possessed in 1776.

Reading the Bible is the first step in our year-long program to impose a colonial American education on you. If you already know how to read and write, the Internet now makes it possible for you to experience the same childhood education that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock experienced. Their education made it inevitable that they would abolish the government -- a government which they described as a "tyranny."

You are not a Real American

A real American believes that the Declaration of Independence is really true. We have not just a right, but a duty to abolish any government that becomes destructive of our right to life, liberty and property -- in other words, a government that will not allow us to live in peace. If you believe the government has a right to kill us, enslave us, and confiscate our property, then you are a communist, not an American. And if you believe that the government has the right to kill, enslave, and steal from foreigners, then you are not a good Christian.

Most people living in the United States today are lousy Americans and are not Christians.

True Americans rejected an Empire which sent Red Coats to impose colonial rule. True Christians reject the Empire which sends predator drones to Afghanistan.

I deem [one of] the essential principles of our government, and consequently [one] which ought to shape its administration,… peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.
— Jefferson, First Inaugural Address (1801) 

Nobody who signed the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution would consider YOU to be a real American -- unless the mainstream calls you an "extremist." But you will be an "extremist" when you finish this program. Because you are going to want to abolish the present government and make America a Christian Theocracy once again. You cannot support the Prince of Peace if you support an atheistic War Machine.

Men like Sam Adams and John Hancock were "extremists." They tossed tea into the Boston Harbor and called their government a "tyranny." You, on the other hand, are a zombie. You work your boring 9-5 job like a worker-drone. You say nothing when the government takes your paycheck for a Wall Street "bailout." You say nothing when your government kills more children in Iraq than it did people in Hiroshima.

The tax on tea, the "Stamp Act" taxes, and all other taxes combined added up to only 1% or 2% of the colonists' income. The tax burden today is 20-50 times greater than it was under George III in 1776. The Pentagon consumes a trillion dollars a year. This is theft. You pay your taxes because you do not want to be locked up in prison with a psychopath. You don't want to imagine the violence you will experience if you don't pay up.

So where's your musket?*

A Real American is a Christian

On May 2, 1778, when the Continental Army had emerged from its infamous winter at Valley Forge, Commander-in-Chief George Washington issued the following:

The commander-in-chief directs that divine service be performed every Sunday at eleven o'clock in those brigades [in] which there are chaplains; those which have none [are] to attend the places of worship nearest to them. It is expected that officers of all ranks will by their attendance set an example to their men. On May 12, 1779, in a speech to the Delaware Indian Chiefs, Washington coached them:

John Witherspoon was undoubtedly one of the most influential educators of his day. His students at Princeton University included one President, one Vice President, three Supreme Court Justices, 10 Cabinet members, 12 Governors, 60 Congressmen (21 Senators; 39 Representatives) plus scores of state officials and members of the Constitutional Convention. Witherspoon said

" . . . he is the best friend to American liberty, who is most sincere and active in promoting true and undefiled religion, and who sets himself with the greatest firmness to bear down profanity and immorality of every kind. Whoever is an avowed enemy of God, I scruple not [would not hesitate] to call him an enemy to his country."[source]

Most Americans today are enemies of America. That is, enemies of the ideal that America's Founding Fathers fought for: Liberty Under God. The "Vine & Fig Tree" society.

To be a great American, America's Founders said, you have to be a Christian.

But You are NOT A Real Christian

Jesus Christ said it's better to be dogmatic and wrong than it is to be ignorant and air-headed. It's better to be a Nazi or a Communist than to be a "moderate."

I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:15-16

Americans are air-heads. They are more concerned with being accepted by the mainstream and the majority than they are pursuing the truth. The majority of Americans think of themselves as being "non-conformists" in some sense, and everyone conforms to this illusion.

America is ILLEGAL in 2014

Under pressure from the ACLU, federal courts have made it illegal for students in government-run schools to be taught that the Declaration of Independence is really true. Students can be taught that dead white guys like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson used to believe it was true, but public schools cannot teach that the Declaration really is true today, and that students today really should risk their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to believe and promote ideas from the Declaration of Independence such as these:

  • The existence of God is a "self-evident truth"; 

  • Our rights are the product of the intelligent design of a Creator, not random, impersonal evolution, nor arbitrary social convention; 

  • God has revealed unchanging moral absolutes ("the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God"); 

  • Our violation or conformity to these moral absolutes will be punished or rewarded by "the Supreme Judge of the world"; 

  • If we know and obey God's Commandments, we can have "a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence." (This belief is the opposite of "deism." "Providence" is the miraculous, supernatural intervention of God in history, changing the natural order of things in response to prayer. Not a single person who signed the Constitution was a "deist." Not one.)

Any government employee teaching or promoting these ideas in 2014 would be guilty of violating "the establishment clause" -- according to the ACLU and the federal government. They would be accused of attempting to "impose a Theocracy."

And of course no school will ever teach students that it is not only our right but our duty to "abolish" any government that becomes a tyranny -- such as ours. Public schools won't teach students that America's Founders believed that the most important civic duty any American can perform is abolishing tyranny one law at a time. This is done through a process you know nothing about: "Jury Nullification."

On the day after the Constitution was ratified, America was a land of "Liberty Under God." The Christian Religion and Christian Morality were taught in every school. Therefore we are requiring you to read four (4) other works which are widely regarded as being among the most important in the history of Western Civilization. Reading these four works, in addition to the Bible, will re-create a colonial American education in just one year. These four credible, reliable, and time-honored works will abundantly confirm our "anarchist" and "pacifist" interpretation of the Bible and the human condition. We will show you how to download these works for free from the Internet.

Success experts like Brian Tracy say you should read for an hour a day in your chosen field to be successful (that's more than a dozen books a year). George Washington read the Bible for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening. Your "chosen field" was chosen for you by God: to be an extraordinary human being. If you can't read just four of the most important books in the history of Western Civilization next year, you'll never be a success in the human race.

Most people who are interested in peace and cynical about war are also cynical about the Bible. It may help you to consider another perspective. During the next 365 days, you'll read the Bible in a completely different context. It won't be the Bible you learned as a kid and rejected as a teenager.

"The Westminster Standards"
In 1892, the U.S. Supreme Court declared that America was a Christian nation. More specifically, America was a product of the Protestant Reformation. Even more specifically, America was a Calvinist nation. The greatest statement of the Calvinist religion is found in "The Westminster Standards."

In 2014, 99% of Americans have never heard of "The Westminster Standards." At a time when the total population of America was only four million people, it is estimated that some five million copies of the "Westminster Shorter Catechism" were available in the colonies. Historian Richard Gardiner writes:

The Westminster Catechism was not only a central part of the colonial educational curriculum, learning it was required by law. Each town employed an officer whose duty was to visit homes to hear the children recite the Catechism. The primary schoolbook for children, the New England Primer, included the Catechism. Daily recitations of it were required at these schools. Their curriculum included memorization of the Westminster Confession and the Westminster Larger Catechism. There was not a person at Independence Hall in 1776 who had not been exposed to it, and most of them had it spoon fed to them before they could walk.

Many people in our day who are known as "war protesters" are not enamored with America's Founding Fathers, or the Puritans who came before them and laid the foundations of America. But America once had a reputation for bringing peace to oppressed people around the world, and brokering peace between warring nations. Sure, reputations can be cultivated rather than genuinely earned, but even "war protesters" are better off protesting war in America than the wars of more tyrannical governments.

It's better to live in a nation where the government doesn't think it's god, and doesn't demand worship from its citizens. We still live in such a nation because of America's Puritan and Calvinist forefathers.

It takes approximately 11 minutes per day to read through the Bible from cover to cover in a year. It only takes a couple of minutes to read through the Westminster Catechisms and Confession. They were written around 1645 and the drafters unequivocally opposed anarchism. But they believed that God is God, and denied that the State is God, a necessary first step on your road to becoming an anarchist. When The Prince of Peace is our Sovereign, there is peace. When our Sovereign is Washington D.C., there is war. We must have a true view of Sovereignty.

Capitalism
Many people in our day who protest war also oppose "capitalism." When they use the word "capitalism," they refer to government subsidies for powerful corporations.

Those who defend capitalism are the most consistent defenders of peace and opponents of aggression. Even if they protest war, those who oppose capitalism also oppose peace, because they support government aggression against those they deem to be "capitalists."

Those who defend "capitalism" (not those who attack it) define "capitalism" as peace. They define "capitalism" as the absence of the initiation of force. They define "capitalism" as liberty.

Capitalism is a social system based on
the rejection of the initiation of force or violence against others.

This definition will surprise many who attack capitalism. Ask a critic of capitalism to define “capitalism” and the critic’s definition will not even be close to this definition[7]. Nevertheless, I do not know a single self-described defender of capitalism who would disagree with this definition. In fact, most would agree it gets to the very heart and soul of the dispute between capitalism and socialism. For the benefit of those who doubt, I would be happy to supply the quotations and footnotes from the writings of self-conscious defenders of capitalism to buttress my claim. The quotes would be many and lengthy. I would quote Ayn Rand,[8] George Reisman, Milton Friedman,[9] Ludwig von Mises,[10] F.A. Hayek,[11] and many other defenders of capitalism.

As an example, the Libertarian Party, unquestionably the political party most vigorously committed to capitalism, requires its members to sign this pledge in order to join the party:

I do not believe in or advocate
the initiation of force

as a means of achieving political or social goals
.

That is the full extent of the Libertarian Party membership pledge. It is widely viewed as the sine qua non of libertarianism. It is often referred to by defenders of capitalism as “the principle of non-aggression[13]  (Of course, anyone can vote Libertarian, without taking "the Pledge.")

This is not just an abstract academic debate. Socialism rationalizes violence. Socialism has meant slavery and death to hundreds of millions of human beings. Too many on the left who claim to be for peace defend The Welfare State (welfare socialism), which turns out to be window-dressing for The Warfare State. To oppose capitalism is to oppose the only economic system that repudiates the initiation of all violence. To wrongly define capitalism as a system that “exploits” the poor or in some other way initiates force against others is to pull the plug on an effective force for peace.

Rightly understood, then, an attack on capitalism is an attack on the heart and soul of Christian ethics. To say “I am not a capitalist” is to say “I support the use of violence to get what I want

Again, this is based on the definition of capitalism offered by the most scholarly defenders of capitalism, not those who attack it.

Find someone who is called a "capitalist" who uses the violence and coercion of the State to crush his competitors and exploit the poor, and you have found someone that every self-identified defender of capitalism would say is not a "capitalist."

This is the issue: Is there any human activity that is more efficiently carried out under threats of violence and force than under liberty?
  • Is it the case that human beings cannot be trusted to produce milk and bread for the children unless they are threatened with prison terms by "the government?"
  • Is it really true that Americans cannot manufacture and distribute computers, clothing, housing, groceries, without "the government?"

America became the most admired nation on earth because it stood for the proposition that capitalism (liberty) succeeds and socialism fails.

Many people today believe that the government produces wealth. Others want the government to redistribute wealth ("spread the wealth") to special interests. Such people wouldn't even entertain the idea of abolishing the government, much less actively work toward that goal. "The government can give us whatever we want if we just vote the most generous and compassionate politicians into office."

Adam Smith would be appalled at such ignorance and immorality. Smith taught ethics at the University of Glasgow and wrote a Theory of Moral Sentiments. In the same year as the Declaration of Independence was written (1776), Adam Smith wrote a book entitled An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of The Wealth of Nations, widely regarded as the first treatise on capitalism. Capitalism is unquestionably one of the most important features of Western Civilization. Capitalist nations enjoy health and prosperity. Capitalism is the opposite of socialism. Socialist nations can't spread the wealth, they can only spread the poverty. Socialism -- government intervention in the economy -- is not just inefficient and wasteful, it is immoral.

Smith's book is not easy reading. A more recent treatise is:  Capitalism by Prof. George Reisman. We will assign Reisman's text. Consistent socialism is maximum government. We believe consistent capitalism is anarchism; the complete absence of government force; a "Vine & Fig Tree" society where swords have been beaten into plowshares, and violence de-mystified. Prof. Reisman disagrees with us -- he says a little government is needed to protect the Market -- but his book will help us prove our point with credibility, facts, and impeccable logic. 

        

Theocracy
America became the most prosperous and admired nation in history because it was a nation "Under God." In short, America was a Christian Theocracy. Today the word "theocracy" conjures up images of Islamic terrorists and mullahs. People think of "theocracy" as a police state governed by priests. This is inaccurate. The word "theocracy" comes from two Greek words, theos, meaning "God," and a Greek word meaning "rule." A theocracy where God rules is a nation "under God." America has always been known as "one nation Under God," and therefore America has always been a Christian Theocracy.

But there are good theocracies and there are bad ones. A nation can be attempting to be a Christian Theocracy and do a very poor job of it. We do not believe that a good Christian Theocracy is a police state. We believe a good Christian Theocracy is a "Vine & Fig Tree" society where all the priests and princes have resigned and gotten real jobs where they serve others.

A Christian Theocracy seeks to give God all the glory. It's hard to see that God rules when the State claims to be the Messiah.

Americans today have been misled by the myth of "the Separation of Church and State." This mythical idea -- not found anywhere in the Constitution -- has come to mean the separation of God and State, with God being separated into the private world of fantasy and imagination, and the State having omnipotent power in "the real world."

In 1892 the United States Supreme Court unanimously declared that America was "a Christian nation." The Court went back to the discovery of North America by Columbus, and summarized all the official legal charters and documents that acknowledged our duty to God and created the American Theocracy, the most prosperous and admired nation in history. In 1989 the Court said, "This Court  squarely has rejected the proposition that the First Amendment is to be interpreted in light of any favoritism for Christianity that may have existed among the Founders of the Republic. "May have?" America is no longer a nation under God. As a result, America -- once prosperous and admired --  is now bankrupt and despised.

The great conflict in Western Civilization today is whether our world will become

 • an Islamic theocracy,
 • an atheistic theocracy (where man thinks he is his own god, but the omnipotent secular State wields total, crushing power),
 • or whether America will again be a "City upon a Hill," persuading the world to become a peaceful, global Christian Theocracy -- the kind described by the Prophet Micah.

The third reading assignment will be the history of Christian Theocracy and "Western Civilization."

Hundreds of years before Christ, the prophet Daniel spoke of the first Christmas, Christ's coming in the days of the Roman Empire. That empire was destroyed, and Christian Theocracy began growing. The Emperor Justinian began Christianizing the Eastern Roman Empire, and in the West kings like Alfred and Ethelbert made the 10 Commandments the basis of new legal systems. The "Common Law" began, with a Christian foundation, and eventually found its way into the Constitution of the United States, "a Christian nation." No one book adequately chronicles this history, so we will read from a number of books that try:

       
   

Excerpts from these books are freely available on the Internet. Only one of the authors agrees with our anarchist conclusions, but their arguments lead to our conclusions if consistently held.

There are two stories that need to be told:

The first is how Christianity destroyed the slavery and paganism of the Roman Empire and brought "Liberty Under God," the foundation of "Western Civilization" (476 A.D.- 1517 A.D.).

The second story is the story of America, and how
• Calvinism created America (1517 - 1787)
• America apostatized into an atheistic empire (1787 - 2014)
• and -- hopefully -- how America repented and
   became a peaceful anarchist-theocracy (2014 - ????).

To begin this second story, we will assign the reading of the Supreme Court's opinion in the 1892 Decision Holy Trinity Church vs. The United States and all the historic legal documents cited by the Court.

As the United States became more secular, and the Prince of Peace was repudiated, the U.S. became more warlike.

Optimism Concerning Future Progress Toward Peace

Four months into the program we will be taking a detailed survey of all participants to monitor their progress. We will determine the chief continuing objections to becoming an anarchist/pacifist (if any). The fourth text will be assigned based on the individual answers.

The Armageddon Deception

One of the most popular objections to undertaking the task of abolishing an atheistic dictatorship by working to persuade archists to repent (resign) is the belief that Armageddon -- total nuclear war in the Mideast -- is inevitable. Christ is going to return "any day now," and "you don't polish brass on a sinking ship." Christians are soon going to be "raptured," it is believed, so why work against war and the tyranny of "The New World Order" or invest energy in a defense of "Liberty Under God?" Those voicing such objections will be assigned an 1876 book entitled The Parousia:

This book is simply a catalog of all New Testament prophecies concerning "the second coming." The result of looking at all the evidence will be a "paradigm shift."

We are not in "the end times." We are in "The Beginning Times." Peace -- not Armageddon -- is our future.

Other objections will be prescribed an appropriate remedy on an individual basis.

Life is a race. If you want to win the race, you need a coach.
